Abstract:

In occasion of the exhibition organised by Pinacoteca di Brera and The Metropolitan Museum of Art (Milan, October 12th 2004 – January 9th 2005; New York, February 1st – May 1st 2005) Edizioni Olivares published this catalogue, which investigates the life of the Italian Renaissance master. The exhibit and the catalogue want to give the public the possibility to know Fra Carnevale, a talented artist, a Dominican friar and an architect. After his training in Florence, where he worked in the workshop of Filippo Lippi and he knew Domenico Veneziano and the young Piero della Francesca, Fra Carnevale moved to the court of Urbino, bringing there the Renaissance. It is available the English edition of the catalogue, published in the hardcover version by The Metropolitan Museum of Art, Yale University Press and Edizioni Olivares. In the paperback version it is published by The Metropolitan Museum of Art and Edizioni Olivares.
